Fairstead is seeking a Compliance Manager to join our on-site property management team. This role involves maintaining compliance with housing authorities, executing effective annual administrative cycles, ensuring all requirements are completed, and liaising with housing authorities and stakeholders to maximize economic outcomes and minimize operational risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee on-site compliance team, ensuring leases and reporting are completed on time for management and the housing authority.
  • Maintain vacancy list and housing authority waitlist.
  • Oversee preliminary completion of files to ensure they are compliant with housing authority guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure state monitoring databases are updated monthly as required.
  • Prequalify applicant income and screenings for vacant units.
  • Facilitate new and renewal lease signings.
  • Track, maintain, and notify housing authorities of all transfer inquiries and requests.
  • Ensure documentation/forms used by site staff are up to date and compliant with housing authority standards.
  • Provide superior customer service to tenants and prospective tenants by promptly responding to all inquiries professionally and respectfully.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Two (2) years of affordable housing compliance experience, with knowledge of multifamily leasing and compliance.
    • Relevant certifications such as TACC, COS, BOS, AHM, or others are preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience managing people across multiple locations.
    • Extremely detail-oriented.
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions.
    • Yardi experience or ability to learn new software quickly.

    Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Salary Range: $80,000—$90,000 USD.
