Youth Worker - Primary PRULocation: BedfordSalary: £90-£100 per day (depending on experience)Contract: Temporary to Permanent, via Tradewind Recruitment

Do you have a passion for supporting children who need extra guidance to succeed? Tradewind is currently recruiting for a Youth Worker to join a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bedford. This role is ideal for someone with experience in behaviour support, youth work, or working with children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:

• Working 1:1 and in small groups with primary-aged children who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion.

• Supporting pupils to manage their behaviour, build resilience, and develop positive learning habits.

• Building strong, trusting relationships to re-engage children in education.

• Working closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe and nurturing environment.

What we're looking for:

• Experience working with young people, ideally in a PRU, SEMH, youth work, or behavioural support setting.

• A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.

• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation strategies.

• A genuine passion for helping children thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
