Are you passionate about helping young people thrive? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of 16-25-year-olds facing homelessness? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you.

Our client, a respected provider of supported accommodation, is seeking a Youth Development Worker to join their dynamic support team in Bristol. This is a chance to be part of a service that transforms lives - guiding young people to develop independence, resilience, and confidence.

The Role

As a Youth Development Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals. This is more than just a job - it's an opportunity to empower the next generation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one key work support to young people aged 16-25
  • Developing and reviewing tailored support and action plans
  • Managing risk assessments and risk management plans
  • Supporting tenancy management and navigating benefits systems
  • Encouraging budgeting, financial independence, and life skills
  • Promoting pathways into education, training, or employment
  • Liaising with external professionals such as mental health services, domestic violence agencies, and landlords
  • Preparing young people for successful, independent living

About You

We're looking for someone who can build trusting relationships with young people while maintaining a professional and supportive approach. You'll need:

  • The ability to engage with and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds
  • An understanding of safeguarding and emotional and mental health needs
  • Experience with support planning and risk management
  • Strong communication skills and a flexible, person-centred approach
  • Confidence in lone working, alongside being a proactive team player
  • Resilience, creativity, and a genuine passion for empowering others

This role includes a flexible bandwidth of hours (8am-8pm), with 1 weekend in 4 on a rolling rota (including bank holidays). Please note, applicants must have the right to work in the UK as sponsorship is not available.
