Are you a hands-on engineering professional with a passion for leadership, metalwork, and workshop excellence? We’re looking for a dynamic Workshop Team Leader to take charge of the day to day operations and help shape the future of their Milton Keynes facility.

?? About the Role

As the Workshop supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of our operations — managing daily engineering activities, leading a skilled team, and ensuring the smooth delivery of fabrication and maintenance projects. You’ll take full ownership of our workshop space, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in developing a safe, efficient, and high-performing engineering environment.

?? What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and mentor the Engineering team and external service providers
  • Oversee the setup, layout, and optimisation of our Milton Keynes workshop
  • Plan and allocate daily/weekly fabrication and engineering tasks
  • Work from detailed fabrication drawings to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Provide hands-on support in MIG welding and metalwork
  • Manage repairs, maintenance, and project-specific tool prep
  • Ensure quality control across internal and outsourced engineering work
  • Maintain stock control and oversee consumables purchasing
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance
  • Support other departments with technical expertise as needed

  • Conduct appraisals, manage holidays and overtime, and support team development
  • Identify training needs and work with HR to upskill the team
  • Cascade company policies and foster a positive, proactive team culture

  • Proven experience in a hands-on engineering leadership role
  • Strong background in metalwork and MIG welding
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills
  • A proactive, safety-first mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead by example
