Job description:
Overview
To assist the workshop operations for the production of high-quality structural steelwork, architectural metal works and associated products; to learn from work colleagues, and where necessary attend site to carry out minor works
Responsibilities
- Work safely and have regard for the safety of others
- Assist fabricators and welders with material handling and preparation
- Cut, grind, and clean steel components as directed
- Operate basic workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Unload deliveries and organise steel stock as required- Goods in/Goods out
- Perform general workshop duties including sweeping, waste disposal, and tool maintenance
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Report any equipment faults or safety concerns to the Foreman/Manager
- Provide ad-hoc support for project preparation and assembly
- Use of overhead crane
- Use of plant including but not exclusively, Plasma, break press
- Primarily based in a busy workshop environment
- May involve occasional outdoor work or site visits
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
- Standard working hours with potential for overtime during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment is preferred
- Basic understanding of hand tools and workshop machinery
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on varied tasks
- Forklift license or relevant certifications (desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes (advantageous)

- Monday to Friday
- 8am to 5pm
