Reed FE are working with a College in Birmingham and are seeking a dedicated Work Experience Officer to join our Work Experience Team. This role involves sourcing, coordinating, and monitoring student placements, ensuring they meet course requirements, college placement criteria, and relevant safeguarding conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational or vocational placement settings, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with employers.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Identify suitable placements that align with course requirements and college criteria.
  • Develop and maintain a network of employers to provide placement opportunities and foster long-term relationships.
  • Conduct placement visits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Record details of student placements and provide feedback to students, tutors, and placement providers during on-site visits.
  • Support learners in class to prepare for placements and contribute to their target setting in collaboration with tutors and employers.
  • Liaise with tutors and coordinators to identify specific course requirements for placements.
  • Manage administrative tasks including DBS checks, medical questionnaires, and CSCS Card testing.
  • Participate in the student selection process and support the organization of placement provider events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification.
  • Minimum Level 2 English Qualification.
  • Experience in curriculum-related areas and placement work.
  • Strong team-working skills and experience working within a team.
  • Demonstrable communication, administrative, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and Management Information Systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A record of achieving objectives and targets.
