As the Wellbeing Practitioner, you will help implement and support Wellbeing as directed by the Practice Development and Wellbeing Lead Nurse at Wellesley Hospital.  This will be through raising awareness of wellbeing activities across the hospital, promoting healthy lifestyles and positive mental health.

Some of your key responsibilities will be promoting health campaigns, facilitating activities from the Elysium Wellbeing Calendar, encouraging colleagues and service users to participate in wellbeing initiatives and championing and promoting relevant health messages and events at Wellesley Hospital.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be:

  • Promoting particular health campaigns through poster displays, emailing colleagues, giving out leaflets and updating colleagues via staff forum or drop in clinics (e.g. World Mental Health Day, National No Smoking Day).
  • Facilitating activities as mapped out in the Elysium Wellbeing Calendar, e.g. a lunch time walk, book club, World Aids day, International Nurses Day or hobby group.
  • Signposting colleagues to relevant services (CIC counselling etc)
  • Encouraging colleagues to participate in Elysium’s Wellbeing initiatives/challenges.
  • Participating in running support drop in clinics for staff to be able to raise concerns then report this to HD /Deputy HD for actioning
  • Updating the monthly staff newsletter
  • Championing and promoting relevant health messages and events at Wellesley Hospital.
  • Providing information to colleagues about Wellbeing Support
  • Role modelling and promoting a healthy culture within the workplace.
  • Involvement in events across the hospital, collaborative working with staff.
  • Providing wellbeing support for any staff who may be affected by work related incidents (welfare calls or checks as identified by the Practice Development and Wellbeing Lead Nurse)
  • Distribution and collection of monthly staff and Star Award nominations.
  • Minute the staff forum meetings and distribute accordingly.This includes the completion of any associated action logs.
  • Maintain a stock of any sanitary products or wellbeing products on offer for staff.

 Will also be required to support the induction and orientation of new staff, including additional support for staff who have recently relocated from overseas.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An enthusiasm for, and interest in wellbeing, improving the working environment and supporting engagement.
  • Being approachable and willing to help.
  • A basic understanding of healthy lifestyles and health promotion.
  • Keen to keep up to date with activities within the Elysium Wellbeing programme, attend the occasional training event/meeting and collaborate with others.
