Welder/Fitter

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Welder/Fitter to join our well-established client based in Heywood, Greater Manchester on a full-time permanent basis. Hours• 39 hours per week• Monday to Thursday – 08:00am to 4:30pm• Friday – 08:00am to 3:30pm

Salary• £35,000 per annum

Day-to-Day DutiesAs a Welder/Fitter, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• MIG welding to a good standard• Reading and working from technical drawings• Fabricating brackets, jigs and components• Jig and assembly work• Preparing materials for painting• Painting to a basic workshop standard• Installing hydraulic equipment on vehicles• Fitting and repairing fifth wheel assemblies• Completing daily/monthly workshop checks• Using computer systems to process documentation• Occasional off-site service or warranty work• Following company procedures and health & safety rules

Essential Experience• MIG Welding Certificate• Minimum 2 years’ workshop or fabrication experience• Ability to read and understand technical drawings• Full UK Driving Licence• Basic electrical knowledge• Understanding of hydraulic systems

Desirable Experience• HGV Class 1 (desirable)• FLT licence (desirable – training can be provided)

Training Provided• Full training provided, with ongoing development support
