Waste Supervisor - Recycling Centres - Hertfordshire County Council : Job Details

Are you an experienced leader in managing and motivating remote teams to achieve exceptional results and high levels of customer service? We are looking for a Waste Supervisor who will oversee Recycling Centres in accordance with Health and Safety, Waste industry (EA), and other relevant legislations. Working within a small team dedicated to the Recycling Centre service, you will continuously improve this essential service for the residents of Hertfordshire.

Travelling around the county, conducting frequent inspections related to service provision and compliance. Engaging with members of the public in person, over the phone, and through written communications, investigating accidents, incidents, complaints, and customer inquiries to provide thorough and reasoned responses and resolutions.

You will have:

• Leadership and management skills.
• Certificate of Technical Competence.
• Waste management experience.
• Experience in managing Health and Safety, with a relevant qualification.
• Proven ability to improve services through managing a team of staff.
• Ability to communicate policy and legislative restrictions clearly to the public, acknowledging the diversity of Hertfordshire residents.
• Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage operations similar to a Recycling Centre.
• Daily access to a vehicle and the ability to drive around the county as required.
