Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and operational leadership to nursing and support staff
Ensure safe, effective care delivery and patient goal achievement
Oversee admissions, discharge planning, and communication across MDTs
Champion a learning and reflective culture across the team
Manage risk, safeguarding, and uphold compliance with the Mental Health Act and NMC guidelines
Drive performance through effective rostering, recruitment, and staff development
Act as a clinical role model, maintaining high standards and mentoring staff and students
Requirements:
RMN or RNLD with current NMC registration
Proven experience managing a ward or large clinical team
Strong knowledge of clinical governance and risk assessment
Ability to lead, inspire, and develop staff in a person-centred environment
Confident in working with complex care and rehabilitation cases
Mentorship in Practice (MIP) qualification or willingness to undertake
Skilled in written and verbal communication across all levels
Ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties and unsociable hours
Awareness of safeguarding, infection control, and record-keeping standards
Able to challenge constructively, promote wellbeing, and support a safe, positive team culture
