We are working with a fast growing media publishers to find them a Video Journalist. If you are a recent graduate with Journalism experience and a love of social media then this could be the perfect role for you.

As a Video Journalist, your role will not only be to create viral content for TikTok and Instagram but to produce daily journalism-based videos, collaborate with content creators, and devise strategies alongside senior members of the team. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your journalism career as part of a fun, supportive company.

Key responsibilities:

• Generate three engaging videos daily for TikTok and Instagram, involving pitching, scripting, presenting, and editing with social team guidance.
• Develop and launch new series and original content for our channels.
• Coordinate with the Social Media Lead to maintain workflow, production, and output standards.
• Deliver daily and weekly workload punctually according to our publishing schedule.
• Provide accurate analytic reports for weekly and monthly targets regarding views, engagements, and followers.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking as you progress in the role.
• Ensure content adheres to editorial, ethical, and legal standards, aligning with the company’s brand and voice.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

• Passionate about social media trends and news across various topics.
• Some prior experience in journalism preferred but not mandatory.
• Interest in current affairs, culture, and content creation.
• Preferably a content creator with a social media presence.
• Proficient in editing software and familiar with TikTok and Instagram.
• Comfortable on camera and staying updated on trends.
• Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Interest in data analytics and algorithms.
• Ability to align content strategy with brand goals.
• Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
• Willingness to take initiative.
