Vice Principal (Academic)

We are seeking a Vice Principal (Academic) to join a HE Institution based in East London. This role focuses on the academic aspects of the organisation, supporting the Principal in supervising and enhancing the effectiveness of our academic programmes and activities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as a support to the Principal in all areas involving the college’s academic planning and delivery.
- Represent the college in the external community, including awarding organisations and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and implement academic strategies that align with the college’s mission.
- Chair the Academic Board and the Principal’s Executive Group, ensuring efficient scheduling and record-keeping of meetings.
- Review and ensure the availability of key academic documents such as the Student Handbook and course handbooks.
- Monitor and report on academic performance indicators to meet or exceed set targets.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Head of Programmes and Academic Monitoring, ensuring continuity in their absence.
- Review academic policies and ensure adherence to all relevant standards and regulations.
- Oversee curriculum management to ensure high-quality educational provision.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in academic leadership within higher education.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and academic standards.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and support academic staff and oversee their professional development.
- Experience in managing relationships with awarding bodies and regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with OfS and QAA requirements is highly advantageous.
