Job Title: Vehicle Safety Certification Engineer

Pay Rate: Competitive

Duration: 12-month contract + extensions

Location: Crewe, CW1 3PL

Hybrid/WFH/WFO - 2 days in office - flexible if live further - at least 1 day in office a week 37hours

Shift Patterns: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm not to be working past 6pm

Start Date: ASAP

Job description:

The Engineering Technical Conformity department are seeking an engineer to work with the Vehicle Safety Certification team on a contract basis at our Crewe site. You will be working with teams cross functionally throughout the Business to coordinate, document and deliver vehicle safety approvals as required by project milestones, gateway deliverables and by the Functional Manager(s).

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering both Type Approval and self-certification of safety systems for respective markets.
  • Ensuring thorough compliance of products with worldwide automotive safety regulations.
  • Identifying, planning, commissioning, and witnessing applicable test work.
  • Liaising with international type approval bodies.
  • Advising the business on the certification of products.
  • Producing and maintaining product certification documents.

About the Person:

The ideal applicant will have a background in delivery of automotive certification or have experience in a compliance role from another industry. Proven ability to manage large volumes of technical data combined with an ability to understand and solve complex and challenging technical topics.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of Type Approval and/or self-certification and/or legislative processes.
  • Sound knowledge of automotive regulations.
  • Have the ability to prioritise work to ensure project targets are achieved.
  • Be able to work on own initiative, taking responsibility for planning workload from high-level milestones.
  • A methodical approach, eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access).

Will need to have a Driving Licence
