- Oversee VAT compliance across UK and international jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Manage and review the preparation of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and submissions.
- Provide indirect tax advice on new business initiatives, product development, and cross-border transactions.
- Monitor legislative changes in VAT and indirect tax, assessing their impact on the business.
- Work closely with finance, legal, and commercial teams to identify and mitigate VAT risks.
- Manage VAT audits and queries from tax authorities.
- Support process improvements and implement technology solutions to streamline VAT reporting.
- Mentor and support junior members of the tax team
Profile
A successful VAT Manager should have:
- A strong background in VAT compliance and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing VAT compliance within a complex organisation.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and VAT reporting tools.
- A professional qualification in accounting or taxation (e.g., AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CTA).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
