Job Title: Underwriting Assistant - Entry LevelLocation: London (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days remote)Contract Type: Permanent, full-timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Underwriting Assistant to join a specialist insurance company, supporting the underwriting team with administrative, analytical, and client-facing tasks. This role is designed for graduates or early career professionals looking to establish a long-term career in insurance.You'll work closely with underwriters to ensure the smooth handling of new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments, while also maintaining accurate records and building relationships with brokers and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist underwriters with the processing of new business, renewals, and endorsements.Prepare and maintain accurate underwriting documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.Input and update data into underwriting systems and policy management platforms.Support risk assessments by gathering information, reviewing submissions, and updating pricing tools.Liaise with brokers, clients, and colleagues to provide updates, resolve queries, and ensure efficient communication.Monitor and track workflow to meet agreed service levels and deadlines.Contribute to team meetings and help identify process improvements.Skills & ExperienceEssential:Degree (2:1 or above preferred) or equivalent experience.Strong analytical and organisational skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Proactive and eager to learn with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in insurance.Desirable:Previous office, internship, or customer service experience.Knowledge of the insurance sector, particularly underwriting, would be an advantage.Willingness to work towards professional qualifications (Cert CII / ACII).What We OfferHybrid working model.Full training and career development within underwriting.Study support towards Cert CII / ACII qualifications.Opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative team environment.Clear progression opportunities within underwriting and the wider business.How to ApplyIf you're a graduate or early career professional seeking a structured entry point into the insurance industry, apply today with your CV.#InsuranceJobs #GraduateCareers #UnderwritingAssistant #EntryLevelJobs
