Your role as the Senior Anaesthetic Registrar for 2026 will be to provide clinical, educational and research support for the Department of Anaesthesia at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

Your responsibilities will include:

Clinical

  • Contribute to the provision of anaesthesia services, under appropriate supervision. This includes performing airway management techniques, administering general, regional & local anaesthesia, sedation, implementing pain management strategies as part of the acute pain management team, participating in the assessment & resuscitation of trauma patients, and implementing instructions in the general management of patients.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in relation to patient care, with confidentiality and privacy, to ensure timely and efficient communication, and that patient records are effective and accurate for current and future use.
  • Participate in Audit
  • Participate in weekend rounds and on-call duties

Education

  • Participate and assist in education sessions
  • Supervise and teach medical students
  • Manage and participate in the Department's quality assurance activities
  • Attend and present at MDT and associated meetings

Research

  • Participate in clinical research
  • Conference presentations

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent qualification
  • Current AHPRA registration or eligible for registration
  • Minimum of 2 years of formal anaesthesia training.
  • Evidence of immunisations to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy for a Category A position.
