An opportunity has arisen for an individual to lead a capable and dynamic team of up to 6 Environmental Trials and Analysis Engineers, working across a number of critical MBDA projects!

Job Title: Engineering Team Leader (Environmental Engineering Trials and Analysis Projects)

Salary: Circa£55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The Trials and Analysis team are a key part of the Environmental Engineering & Facilities Function, the team operates internationally and delivers all trials and analysis aspects of Environmental Engineering projects. The team leads platform integration activities and trials campaigns to characterise MBDA's products in in-service environments and provides advanced digital signal processing principles, signal processing and analysis techniques to derive test specifications to support qualification campaigns, flight and firing clearances.

As the Team Leader, you will focus on the delivery of your assigned projects, combined with the management, development and performance of your team.

Utilising the specialist technical knowledge within the function, you will engage with senior business customers to identify forthcoming campaigns and programmes of work to scope and bid activities; deliver, through the team, work packages involving data gathering trials and assessments; the development of test specifications and subsequent trial analysis to ensure delivery of the required quality, timescale and budget. You will also conduct day to day management and leadership for team and be an active participant in functional improvement projects.

  • A leader who can inspire people to meet business delivery and enable their team members to flourish within their own areas of expertise.
  • Proven Project Management ability to ensure multiple Projects are delivered to time and budget and with the appropriate quality and standards of safety.
  • A technical background in Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with specific experience of Engineering Analysis techniques and Trials conduct.
  • Experienced in People Management, dedicated to leading the team and actively supporting the development and growth of individuals and the team itself.
