Salary: £47,025 - £57,475 Dependent on experience & Discretionary Bonus Scheme

About the Role…

EG Group are excited to present a new opportunity for a Treasury Manager to join our motivated Group Treasury team in Head Office! In this role, the Treasury Manager will be responsible for Trade Finance, managing a $500m portfolio of guarantee, L/C and bond and surety bond issuance, as well as driving the controls framework across the Group Treasury function.

This role will involve working with a new cloud-based cash forecasting platform and a project to implement a global treasury management system (TMS). Reporting to the Deputy Group Treasurer, the successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with the Group Reporting and Applications Manager, EY the Head of IT Risk & Control, and the IT Risk & Control Manger.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating Financial Instruments, managing the end-to-end process of creating bank guarantee and bond globally required for project execution, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and KYC.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Provide recommendations to senior management regarding Treasury strategies, risk management and capital allocation.
  • Ensuring deal compliance: The middle office ensures that all Treasury deals are transacted in accordance with authorization rules (Delegation of authorities). This involves verifying that transactions adhere to established guidelines and policies.
  • Monitoring limits: The middle office monitors exposure limits, managing risk, and promptly report any breaches.
  • Counterparty Management: The middle office evaluates counterparties (such as banks and other financial institutions and evaluates creditworthiness. Effective counterparty management is essential for minimizing risk.
  • Bank Accounts and dealing mandates. Maintain and mange bank accounts and dealing mandates. This involves ensuring that authorised personnel have the necessary access and permissions.
  • Process improvements: Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to stream-line Treasury operations and enhance efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

  • A graduate, ideally holding an ACT certificate in Treasury Fundamentals.
  • Minimum 3 years Treasury experience, including transactional banking, cash management, liquidity, forex, and interest rate risk management acquired within a large, international organization, and solid understanding of UK and European banking regulations.
  • With particular emphasis on Trade Finance, issuing: Letters of Credit, bank guarantees, Surety Bonds and Treasury Controls
  • Focused on delivery and able to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good level of Excel (Lookups, PivotTables, etc.)
  • Knowledge of TMS systems preferred and SAP knowledge would be beneficial.
