The Group Treasury function manages all funding requirements, group bank accounts through pooling structures, and inter-company loans. The team also oversees hedge documentation, treasury systems, and produces key reporting packs for senior stakeholders, while ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Description
This role sits within a back-office treasury team, supporting the Treasury Controller in managing group treasury operations. The Treasury Accountant will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate reporting, strengthening controls, and driving improvements across processes and systems. The position offers exposure to group-level treasury activity, financial reporting, and treasury-related compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly Treasury Committee reporting packs.
- Contribute to treasury improvement and automation projects.
- Support interest cost budgeting, forecasting, and IAS21 reporting.
- Collate FX information from group entities for central FX tracking.
- Assist with the preparation of interest and net debt notes for interim and annual reports.
- Establish and monitor key controls, streamlining processes where possible.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal control effectiveness.
- Conduct quarterly audits of bank user access rights.
- Provide backup support for group monthly management accounting packs.
- Manage access to bank portals, the treasury management system (TMS), and dealing platforms.
- Act as an approver of payments and trades via treasury systems and banking portals.
Profile
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant accounting or treasury experience.
- Experience preparing statutory and management accounts.
- Strong IT, Excel, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of treasury instruments and accounting treatment (desirable but not essential).
- Highly focused on internal controls and structured reporting processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively across different levels of the organisation.
- Delivery-focused with the ability to meet deadlines around key reporting dates.
