Bunzl Catering Supplies, part of the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.

As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering, Cast UK are leading the search for a Transport Supervisor based at their Harlow depot. The incumbent to this role will take responsibility for the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the branch, whilst managing the drivers and taking charge of every transportation item.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the transport team, providing leadership, guidance and direction to the Drivers and Transport team members. You will be involved in planning, scheduling and allocating resources, carrying out vehicle checks, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.

This is for the day shift on a Monday - Friday working week.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the transport team, including Drivers, ensuring all operational targets are met.
• Monitor the fleet performance and ensure all vehicles are adequately maintained and serviced.
• Ensure the transport team complies with all health & safety regulations, and any other relevant legislation.
• Allocate resources and plan schedules to meet customer demands.
• Monitor the performance of the transport team and take appropriate corrective actions when required.
• Liaise with external customers, suppliers and other departments, to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the transport team.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Transport role.
• Knowledge of transport and logistics operations.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team.
• Computer literate, with the ability to use MS Office applications.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
