As an integral member of a large and central logistics hub, this opportunity provides key support in monitoring and managing the transportation from Europe into the UK, via overseeing third party providers. With strict timeframes and service level agreements, this role will be highly hands-on to ensure that all required products are in the right place at the right time and meet set cost and quality requirements.

Monday to Friday working hours (hybrid) plus additional weekend working required one-in-four weeks (Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm).

The day to day

  • Maintaining strong relationships with logistic providers, responsible for the weekly planning of transport requirements.
  • Ensuring optimum service levels from suppliers in terms of delivery and quality.
  • Strong awareness of timeframes, ensuring products are delivered to schedules.
  • Identifying any problems that arise via hauliers and distribution centres, proactively coming up with effective solutions.
  • Delivering on any required reports, analysis and insights.
  • Recording of KPIs to allow for monitoring of supplier and service providers performance.
  • Managing the database and keeping on top of any transport-related data and records.
  • Using good knowledge of transport routes into the UK, liaising with hauliers as appropriate.

You will have/be:

  • An employment background within a similar transport planning capacity or previously worked within a logistics department with the awareness of transport coordination.
  • A keen problem-solver, adept at providing effective solutions.
  • Exudes calmness under pressure, used to working with pace and multiple priorities.
  • A true team player, working as part of a larger function to ultimately deliver on goals
  • Efficient and able to confidently prioritise workload to suit daily demands.
