Training & Development Manager – Financial Planning

£40,000 – £45,000 | Hybrid Working | Established Independent Firm | Remote Work from Home Ocassional visisit to Berkshire office

An award-winning independent financial planning firm is seeking a Training & Development Manager to drive learning, competence, and culture across the business. Sitting within the Compliance Team, this role plays a pivotal part in onboarding, supervising, and developing Financial Planners, Senior Managers, and support teams—embedding a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll lead the firm’s Training & Competence (T&C) programme, ensuring everyone—from new joiners to senior advisers—meets high professional standards:
  • Lead onboarding and FCA registration for new staff across all levels
  • Deliver induction, compliance, and conduct training—both in groups and 1-to-1
  • Design tailored development and supervision plans
  • Maintain CPD records and competence tracking
  • Review advice cases and provide supportive, developmental feedback
  • Help advisers progress toward higher qualifications and Chartered status
  • Manage and enhance the T&C framework, policies, and reporting
  • Champion learning culture initiatives across the business

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a Training & Competence, L&D, or supervisory role within financial services
  • Ideally holding or working towards a Level 4 Financial Planning qualification
  • Solid understanding of FCA regulations, T&C frameworks, and Fit & Proper standards
  • Confident delivering training, with natural coaching and mentoring ability
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly

Salary : 40000 - 45000
