Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Workshop Operative:

• Assembling hydraulic kits and components to precise customer specifications.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Selecting the right materials and using hand and power tools to build components.
• Assisting at the trade counter, picking and booking out parts.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised workspace.
• Working collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines.

What We’re Looking For:

• A genuine interest in manufacturing and engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (training provided).
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to learn and flexibility to work overtime if required.

Who Might Suit This Role?

This role is ideal for those looking to start or progress a career in engineering. Previous experience isn’t essential, but candidates with experience as a Trainee Production Operative, Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, Junior Workshop Technician, Trainee Assembly Operator, Manufacturing Trainee, Trainee Machinist, Assembly Line Trainee or Machine Operator may also be considered.
