A highly respected and award-winning residential developer-renowned for creating beautiful, sustainable communities-is seeking an ambitious Town Planner to join their expanding Chelmsford team.

You'll be joining a collaborative planning function that works closely with land, design, and technical teams to bring new developments from concept through to delivery.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will:

  • Support the promotion of land opportunities through the planning system.
  • Prepare and manage planning applications, appeals, and development strategies.
  • Undertake site assessments and contribute to masterplanning work.
  • Engage with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders to help secure implementable permissions.
  • Monitor planning policy changes and advise internal teams accordingly.
  • Work on a diverse pipeline of residential-led schemes across the region.

About You

We'd love to speak with candidates who have:

  • RTPI-accredited degree or equivalent.
  • Experience gained in a developer, consultancy, or local authority environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK planning policy and development processes.
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Proactive approach, strong organisation, and the confidence to liaise with external partners.
