Toolmaker - Manufacturing & Engineering - Manchester - Up to £42,000About the companyThis role carries a high importance within our client's Mould Manufacturing process, and they are looking for candidates who want to be an integral part of their Toolroom team. Toolmaker - The Rewards

  • Salary Up to £42,000
  • Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 15:30 Friday 07:00 - 14:30
  • Overtime rate 1.3 after 39 hours.
  • 1.5 Saturday
  • 2.00 Sunday
  • 25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays
  • Pension 4%
  • Private healthcare
  • 15 min Morning break - paid
  • 30 mins Lunch break - unpaid
  • Subsidised canteen - Full meal £3
  • Company Sick Pay (after probation)

Toolmaker - Requirements

  • Applicants ideally will have completed a level 3 toolmaking/engineering-based apprenticeship and have at least 5 years’ experience working within a toolmaking role.
  • Experience within a high cavitation plastic injection moulding environment
  • Experience of optimizing EDM Machine Processes and Creating/Using Automated EDM Cells.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines in timely manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a creative attitude and proactive nature
  • PC skills & experience in the use of MS Office
  • Good communication skills in English language, written & oral
  • High ethical standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Toolmaker - Responsibilities

  • Experience with using software (such as PowerMill, PowerShape and Power Inspect) to create models and electrodes for the EDM Process.
  • Using this software to complete the EDM process.
  • Familiarity with inspecting the resulting work using CMM and 3D Profiling Machines.
  • Creating Inspection reports for Quality Control and external auditors
  • Prides themselves on the high quality and accuracy of their moulds.
  • Follow industry and Company Health and Safety requirements by setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
  • Adherence to company policy, Health and Safety standards, and Overall Housekeeping.
  • Keeping reliable and accurate manufacturing and inspection data to use for both Quality and customer auditing.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement activity.
  • Embracing and initiating technological advances within the workplace.
  • Collaborate effectively with other stakeholders, including the Toolroom manufacture and maintenance teams, Tool Design, Production Planning, Project Management and Technical Teams.
