- Maintaining, servicing, and repairing tooling for power presses, hydraulic presses, and CNC punch presses to support production and R&D activities.
- Diagnosing tooling issues, implementing effective solutions, and conducting routine inspections to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
- Designing and developing assembly jigs and pneumatic tooling to improve manual assembly tasks and ensure consistency.
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to review new product designs and advise on design-for-manufacturing considerations.
- Leading or supporting site improvement projects, including manufacturing processes, facilities, and equipment maintenance.
Tool Maker Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in the service and repair of press tooling, including punch and die
- Proficiency in using tool room equipment such as surface grinders, mills, lathes, and semi-CNC machines
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
