An opportunity has arisen for a Warranty Test Technician to join a dedicated engineering team, focusing on the detailed analysis and testing of customer warranty returns. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach and strong analytical skills, looking to contribute to product quality improvements and warranty cost reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and diagnose returned units against OEM specifications to identify faults.
- Report analysis data in customer-specific formats within agreed timeframes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
- Provide technical support across internal departments to enhance product quality.
- Communicate fault and liability findings to management for corrective action planning.
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to improve build quality and reduce warranty claims.
- Manage product flow through the warranty department efficiently.
- Maintain calibration systems and ensure equipment is correctly calibrated.
- Support special projects and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Prepare simple reports and present findings to management.
Requirements:
- Understanding of fuel systems, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems (preferred).
- Experience using machinery and hand tools for diagnostics and measurement.
- Ability to interpret data and perform root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Team-oriented with problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and present data effectively.
- Relevant qualifications such as GCSEs (A-C), IVQ Technician Certificate, BTEC First Certificate, or NVQ Level 2.
