Test Engineer - Futures : Job Details

Our client, a nationally recognised, award-winning manufacturer of high-voltage equipment, is expanding its engineering team and has an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer. As a Test Engineer, you'll be hands-on with advanced testing processes that directly influence product performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. You'll play a critical role in validating cutting-edge transformer technology, ensuring compliance with international standards, and contributing to the company's reputation for engineering excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical testing and inspection of power transformers to IEC and other international standards.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications, verifying alignment with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out equipment modifications and fine-tuning during the testing process.
• Record and analyse test data, preparing detailed reports for internal teams and customers.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain a strong safety culture, particularly when working with high-voltage test equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Practical experience with power transformers or other high-voltage electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing techniques, standards, and instrumentation.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Confident communication skills for technical reporting and customer-facing discussions.
