About the RoleOur client based near Stamford has an immediate requirement for a hands-on Test Engineer to plan, build, and execute verification and validation activities for electro-mechanical products (e.g., actuators, pumps, motors, control panels, sensor assemblies). You’ll develop test methods and fixtures, automate test scripts, analyse results, and work closely with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality to ship reliable, compliant products.Key Responsibilities
- Liaise effectively with Production, Sales, Despatch, Engineering, Quality and Customer Services.
- Develop test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria from requirements and schematics.
- Execute test activities to meet customer delivery schedules across the UK business.
- Support training delivery and verification to personnel performing test activities, in conjunction with the site Authorised Person/ Test Leader.
- Identify improvement opportunities and support root cause and corrective actions activities across the product range, including supporting build and test personnel in improvement activities.
- Report quality and safety issues, and other issues likely to affect product delivery.
- In conjunction with Sales & Engineering, support the on-site factory witness tests carried out by customers/customer appointed 3rd parties.
- Investigate failures and drive corrective actions with Design & Manufacturing.
- Provision of Test function input into the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Ensure compliance to relevant standards and internal QMS (ISO 9001/13485 as applicable).
Requirements
- HNC in Engineering discipline or 3+ years equivalent experience in test, validation, or product development for electro-mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels of the organisation.
- Computer Literate – Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Have a positive and co-operative approach with work colleagues with a strong emphasis on accuracy and detail.
- Strong fault-finding skills.
- Ability to accurately interpret design drawings, test procures and work instructions.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of electrical test processes and test documentation
- Awareness of fault reporting processes and root cause & corrective actions processes
- Strong documentation skills: test plans, procedures, traceability matrices, and formal reports.
- Good time management, with the ability to work independently and with functional teams.
