Our client, a well-established fashion company based in Shepherds Bush, London, is searching for a talented Buyers Assistant to join their dynamic team.

As a Buyers Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support across various areas of trading, buying, planning, and forecasting. Reporting directly to the Buyer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of industry experts, gaining invaluable experience in the fast-paced world of fashion retail.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and analyse weekly trade reports, identifying bestselling and underperforming lines, and presenting findings to the Buyer.
  • Conduct detailed ad-hoc analysis as required, ensuring accurate product presentation and pricing on the website.
  • Update vendor packs and provide seasonal analysis for buying trips as directed, contributing to the overall success of the buying process.
  • Assist the retail team with payment-related issues, ensuring invoices are paid on time.
  • Keep abreast of competitor activity and share relevant insights with the wider team.
  • Proactively support the Junior Buyer and Buyer with continuous global product sourcing.
  • Handle order administration tasks such as analysing stock packages, data manipulation, and buy sheet administration.
  • Maintain excellent vendor relationships and resolve any queries from designers and suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Review and present delivery forecasts, assessing risks and opportunities in collaboration with the Retail Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, coupled with advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Previous administrative experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a buying, merchandising, or retail operations role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proactive nature and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Professional and well-spoken, with excellent communication skills.
  • A great sense of personal style and a true passion for the fashion industry.
  • Off-Price experience is considered advantageous.
  • Degree education preferred (or equivalent).
