Purpose of the Brokerage Officer role-
This is a unique and rare opportunity to join this social services department as a Brokerage Officer, the post holder will be responsible for commissioning a wide range of resources for their services, and other partners whilst ensuring that the relevant procedures are followed.
Duties:
- To negotiate appropriate placements and contract fee levels
- To maintain brokerage systems and procedures in accordance with stated objectives
- To maintain accurate computerised and manual records in relation to brokerage information services.
- To work with the contracts team in the management and development of contractual arrangements and monitoring mechanisms for contracted services.
- To provide advice, guidance and practical assistance in relation to the brokerage service to staff and care providers.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience of commissioning resources, working with partners and understand the compliance standards or have transferable skills that support the key activity detailed within the role profile.
- An understanding of the Adult Social Services is desirable but not essential, alongside a desire to be successful in a post which crosses operational practice with the procurement of services.
- The ideal candidate will be highly efficient with excellent problem solving, communication and negotiation skills. They will be comfortable working in a busy environment with multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines, alongside building robust partnerships with partners and providers.
- There will be a supportive management and learning environment where there will be opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills in the commissioning and social care sector.
- Must have good IT skills - Word, Excel, Outlook and good systems knowledge
