Telecommunications Engineer - GMP RECRUITMENT LIMITED : Job Details

GMP Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-known Telecommunications service provider based in Southport.We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to join their team on a rolling contract basis.

The desired individual will be supporting hardware installation, fibre cabling, fault finding, and providing hands-on support across multiple data centre sites within the company’s infrastructure network.

This is an ongoing contractor role, paid weekly at up to £200 per day, working outside of IR35.

Telecommunications Engineer Main Responsibilities:

• Rack and stack: Installation and deinstallation of equipment
• Fibre optic patching and cabling
• Labelling and documenting cables and equipment
• Fault finding, diagnostics, and testing
• Assisting with site maintenance
• Travel to other data centre locations as required
• Escorting customers and contractors

Telecommunications Engineer required skills and experience:

• Proven experience with rack and stack procedures
• Skilled in fibre optic installation and deinstallation
• Confident in accurate labelling and documentation of infrastructure
• Strong understanding of basic diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with test equipment used in data centre environments
• Exposure to network devices such as Infinera or Ciena is a strong advantage
