Job Title: Technical Author - Cyber Security

Overview
We are looking for a Technical Author to join the Security function within the Gas Transmission business, responsible for developing and maintaining technical standards and documentation that embed cyber security risk reduction. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with legislation, corporate security policies, and industry best practice, while supporting a robust security posture across critical infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, author, and maintain company standards and technical documents that integrate cyber security risk reduction measures.
- Identify and prioritise the review of existing standards and creation of new documentation impacting cyber security.
- Lead document review teams, perform impact assessments, and manage the approval process.
- Produce implementation plans and conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure effectiveness.
- Support operational teams, asset management, and project delivery functions in applying cyber security standards.
- Ensure all documentation complies with legislation, corporate security policies, and document control requirements (T/PM/GR/2).
Knowledge, Experience & Technical Skills
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' industry experience, including technical document authoring.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and cyber security policies.
- Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Understanding of Gas Transmission or Distribution Networks and operational practices.
- Experience leading small teams.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Competent in using computerised systems and applications.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislative requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience developing security standards within regulated industries.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC level education (or equivalent).
- Full and valid UK Driving Licence.
