We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Assistant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Delivery Manager within the Capital Maintenance Delivery Team, the Technical Assistant (TA) will work closely with Project Engineers and the Commercial Team, providing support for the management and technical administration of Maintenance & Engineering Services (MES) capital outputs and parcels.

Collating relevant documentation, the role will involve the integration of information from multiple data sources in order to contribute to the delivery of an efficient capital programme. The role will provide administrative support for the team including raising of orders, provision of PPE, organising team meetings, recording of briefings and lead support for the team.

What will you be doing?

  • Administrative support of the capital process, ensuring all capital governance is adhered to

  • Assist all stakeholders with provision of accurate and relevant information relating to our capital outputs and parcels.

  • Complete a thorough initial Review of all schemes passed through to delivery including stringent investigations of all corporate data to ensure the integrity of the information and adherence to capitalisation rules.

  • Coach and advise team/colleagues on all aspects of the Capital Funding process

  • Monitor and analyse the Capital Funding process, interaction with corporate systems, administration of data. In order to identify areas of continuous improvement, provide relevant feedback and implement necessary changes. To enhance our efficiency and capital delivery performance.

  • Produce accurate and timely updates for all stakeholders involved in the Capital Funding process

  • Engagement Project Engineers with regards to programme management and completion of DM4a deliverables (Job completion, cost capture, Return to Service) and DM5a deliverables (Cost Capture, confirmation of costs etc.)

  • Provide a direct link between Project Engineers and Asset Delivery Planning (ADP) with regard to costs and timescale data.

What does it take to be a Technical Assistant?

  • GCSE level, minimum English and Mathematics

  • Strong organisational and administration abilities

  • Experience of Anglian Water IT systems particularly M2i, SAP and Power Bi

  • Knowledge and good understanding of capital finance and governance procedures

  • Computer Literate in Microsoft Office Applications

  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

  • Excellent data handling skills, use of corporate Web database system and spread sheets

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical skills

  • Experienced manipulator of different data sets including performance data

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective data management

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
