We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager to lead and support a team of social workers in delivering exceptional services to children and families in Gloucestershire. This role is pivotal in ensuring statutory duties and best practice are upheld, developing team plans aligned with strategic objectives, and managing workflow. You will be instrumental in quality assuring work and contributing to the development of our quality assurance framework. Your leadership will help us support and protect vulnerable children and young people across the county.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Lead a team of social workers, providing management oversight on all cases with a clear understanding of risk.
  • Develop and implement a team plan that aligns with Children’s Services strategic objectives.
  • Quality assure work through observations, reflective supervision, and adherence to the quality assurance framework.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support for vulnerable children and young people.
  • Manage the team’s workflow and contribute to the development and improvement of service frameworks.
  • Support families and communities, aiming to provide consistent social worker support from initial contact until permanence is achieved.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • UK-based statutory social work experience.
  • Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Proven experience successfully leading a team of social workers.
