We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded school in Wakefield. Requirements
  • A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with varying needs, including those with SEN.
  • Assist the class teacher in the preparation and delivery of lesson materials and classroom activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom times, such as breaks, lunch, and on school trips.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and the SENCO.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Prepare and maintain general and specialist equipment and resources for lessons.
  • Assist with the administration of coursework, routine tests, and exams.
  • Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers as directed by the teacher.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school community.
