About the Role

Reed Education is seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students in a well-established Alternative Provision setting. You’ll be working with primary and secondary-aged pupils who require additional support outside of mainstream education.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in young people’s lives while gaining valuable experience in a specialist setting. Roles are available across multiple sites in West Sussex, and the Littlehampton centre is just a five-minute walk from the train station.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Motivate and engage pupils, including those with SEMH needs
• Help manage challenging behaviours in a nurturing environment
• Collaborate with staff to implement tailored educational plans
• Monitor and contribute to student progress
• Participate in ongoing training and development

Requirements

• Experience with SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviour (essential)
• GCSEs in Maths & English (Grade C/4 or above)
• NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (preferred) or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Familiarity with the national curriculum and inclusion practices
