A specialist school in Leicestershire, rated 'Good' by Ofsted and catering for pupils aged 4-16, is looking for a caring and flexible Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support children with SEMH needs in both 1-1 and small group settings

• Work alongside teachers to help students manage behaviour and emotions effectively

• Encourage students to develop essential social and life skills

• Assist with learning activities to ensure all students can engage with the curriculum

• Promote inclusion and provide consistent encouragement to help students reach their potential

This long-term role offers a clear pathway to a permanent Teaching Assistant position within a forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised support for pupils with SEMH needs, both individually and in groups

• Assist students in managing their emotions and behaviour using positive strategies

• Help create a safe, calm and respectful classroom atmosphere

• Work collaboratively with staff to implement tailored support plans

• Encourage independence, resilience and confidence in all learners

• Support positive behaviour management and help remove barriers to learning

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with SEMH or SEN

• A genuine commitment to helping young people with social, emotional and mental health needs thrive

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
