About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support children with SEMH needs in both 1-1 and small group settings
Work alongside teachers to help students manage behaviour and emotions effectively
Encourage students to develop essential social and life skills
Assist with learning activities to ensure all students can engage with the curriculum
Promote inclusion and provide consistent encouragement to help students reach their potential
This long-term role offers a clear pathway to a permanent Teaching Assistant position within a forward-thinking school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised support for pupils with SEMH needs, both individually and in groups
Assist students in managing their emotions and behaviour using positive strategies
Help create a safe, calm and respectful classroom atmosphere
Work collaboratively with staff to implement tailored support plans
Encourage independence, resilience and confidence in all learners
Support positive behaviour management and help remove barriers to learning
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with SEMH or SEN
A genuine commitment to helping young people with social, emotional and mental health needs thrive
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
