A dedicated Primary SEN Unit in Brixton is looking to appoint a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe autism from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with experienced SEN Teachers and therapists to provide 1:1 and small group support. The pupils in this setting require consistency, patience, and a structured approach to learning. Many are non-verbal or have limited communication, so experience with PECS, Makaton, or sensory-based learning is highly desirable.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have previous experience supporting children with ASD, strong behaviour management skills, and a calm, caring approach. You'll be joining a supportive, well-resourced SEN provision that values teamwork, training, and emotional wellbeing.
