Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a well-established, independent specialist school just outside Newark, supporting students aged 5 to 19 with autism and related needs. This school offers a calm, structured environment with small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios and a strong focus on emotional and social development.
Located in peaceful countryside surroundings, the school delivers a creative, therapeutic curriculum tailored to each learner.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Helping pupils build confidence, independence and positive routines
- Recording progress, behaviour and wellbeing using clear communication systems
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Providing personal care support where necessary
- Accompanying pupils on off-site visits and learning activities
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and parents to promote inclusion and development
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting students with autism, SEN or SEMH needs
- A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting young learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
- A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE) is beneficial but not essential
