Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Hackney

Long Term Futures are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hackney to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for September 2025.This is a diverse and forward-thinking school with a strong support structure in place for students with additional learning needs. The role involves supporting across a variety of subjects, helping students to access the curriculum and stay engaged in lessons.

Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of learning and emotional needs* Assist in mainstream classes across core subjects including English, Maths, and Science* Work closely with the SENCo and subject teachers to implement support plans* Encourage student confidence, independence and participation* Use behaviour strategies to support focus and progress in lessons* Contribute to student progress tracking and feedback

Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Experience working in a secondary school or with young people in an educational setting* A calm, proactive and encouraging approach* Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students* Understanding of SEN, EAL or SEMH support needs* Flexibility to work across different departments and learning styles

Location and Transport - Hackney, East London* Accessible via Hackney Central, Hackney Downs and Dalston Junction stations* Local bus routes include: 30, 38, 55, 106, 253, 276* Easily commutable from Islington, Waltham Forest, and Tower Hamlets
