TEACHING ASSISTANTS!Are you looking for a new challenge, one that brings children to the forefront of what you do?I am recruiting for special schools across the Dudley, Sandwell, Shropshire, Walsall, and Wolverhampton areas and am currently experiencing a huge number of roles being registered with me. Some of these SEN TA roles are long term, whilst others are short term to cover planned absences. Working in a special school, you'll be working with a specialist team of staff and providing specialist education to pupils that have ECH plans. Classes within a special school are much smaller than their mainstream counterparts and pupils are grouped in accordance with ability and need, not just their age. You will have a large support system and often work alongside 3 other TAs in the classroom. Read what Amber has to say about her experience of working with me in special schools:"I've always worked in mainstream schools but kept being placed in a 1:1 role within schools and left to support these pupils on my own. I didn't feel as though my skills were improving. I was then recommended by a friend to speak to Claire who she had been working for years. She said there were lots of opportunities within special schools, and they weren't as different as what I might think. The biggest difference for me is being able to work with small groups. In mainstream schools, I was either 1:1 outside the classroom or trying to support over 30 students at one time. I have worked in all types of special schools, including PRU settings. Claire will always explain what is expected of me and give me the opportunity. If I don't like it, she will find me something else. I have been offered 2 permanent roles since working with Claire, but I genuinely love supplying too much to stay in one school. I like the flexibility of being able to stay in a school for one or two terms and then move on.
