  • Salary: £157.66 - 200/day

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher or Tutor to join a leading Alternative Education School, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of disengaged young people aged 11 to 16. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in SEND, particularly with SEMH needs including ASD and ADHD. Benefit from smaller class sizes, allowing for the development of strong relationships and the delivery of tailored learning experiences.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Establish clear teaching objectives and outline how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Set challenging tasks to maintain high levels of student interest and engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work that captivate pupils, many of whom face barriers to learning.
  • Create individual learning plans with clear targets and success criteria for pupils.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures, promoting punctuality, positive behaviour, and high standards of work and homework.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • For Teachers: A degree in your chosen subject and QTS/QTLS (or willingness to work towards it).
  • For Tutors: A degree or equivalent and willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
  • For other backgrounds: Degree or equivalent and experience in a relevant sector working with young people, plus willingness to undertake a formal teaching qualification.
  • A proven track record of raising attainment, supporting behavioural challenges, and providing pastoral care.
  • Must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
