About the Role

You’ll work alongside a highly experienced Head of Department to deliver engaging, high-impact English lessons and contribute to curriculum development. Whether you’re newly qualified or bring years of classroom experience, you’ll benefit from personalised coaching, mentoring, and access to sector-leading professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic, well-structured lessons that inspire and challenge
• Establish clear routines and uphold consistent behaviour expectations
• Use assessment data to identify learning gaps and tailor interventions
• Collaborate on curriculum planning and resource development across year groups
• Support enrichment activities, trips, and wider departmental initiatives
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Uphold professional standards and contribute to the school’s inclusive culture

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for English
• Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
