The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Teacher to join our committed and collaborative department. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons. You will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Position Details

  • Location: Bradford
  • Contract: Full time role
  • Pay Rate: £160 - £250 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that align with the curriculum.
  • Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to the diverse needs of learners.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations with tailored strategies and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development of English department schemes of work.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
  • Promote a love of English through extracurricular activities, such as book clubs or writing workshops.
  • Create an inclusive environment where books and reading are accessible for all students.
