A well-established law firm with an excellent reputation is seeking a Tax & Trust Administrator to join its Private Client team in London. This role sits within a successful close-knit team and involves supporting the administration of trusts and estates, as well as preparing related tax documentation under the supervision of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Personal and Trust Tax Returns
- Compile data and complete Inheritance Tax (IHT) accounts
- Maintain Trust Accounts and liaise with brokers, accountants, trustees, and beneficiaries
- Administer basic estates and provide tax returns for estate administration periods
- Register trusts and estates with HMRC’s Trust Registration Service
- Draft basic trust documents including resolutions, minutes, and deeds of appointment
- Monitor and administer assets under Powers of Attorney or Court of Protection Deputyship
- Produce ad hoc tax computations (CGT, IHT, Income Tax) and cash accounts
- Ensure accurate data management and compliance with internal systems and policies
- Contribute to team development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
The Successful Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience in trust and estate administration, a strong understanding of UK tax processes, and excellent organisational and communication skills. A proactive approach and ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
