Our Tax Advisory team is seeking a qualified Tax Manager, as part of the management team, you will oversee and develop team members by setting objectives and conducting performance reviews. This role will be instrumental in providing expert tax advice and submit compliance assignments to ensure the successful completion of tax advice for relevant clients. The role can be based out of our Grantham or Spalding offices.

Your responsibilities

Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day:

  • Interact with clients daily at several levels, to identify the more complex problems faced and provide solutions. Act as the primary contact for clients and have responsibility for client relationship management.

  • Accountability for managing a full portfolio to the highest standard, using knowledge and skills to add value to the client by cross-selling.

  • Be recognised as a technical expert within your respective field(s), both internally and externally, utilising opportunities to share knowledge and expertise to increase overall performance.

  • Work with other directors/managers of the team for individual client assignments, ensuring that they are well informed and receive regular updates on progress, along with identifying and escalating any issues as necessary.

  • Build a network of potential new clients to identify new business opportunities (e.g., active participation within funnels or similar marketing initiatives), creating a vibrant pipeline of new opportunities.

  • Develop relationships with new and existing clients to identify opportunities to sell all the company’s services, pitch for new business opportunities and create tender documents.

About you

We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in the role:

  • You will be ACA, ACCA, or CTA, or ATT qualified with a minimum of 3 year’s post-qualification experience.

  • Experience in Inheritance tax, capital gains, allowances, trusts, income tax and incorporation work.

  • People management

  • Effective management of client lock up - budgets/billing/debtors.

  • Time management of work in progress

  • Business development skills

  • Organised with good time and budget management.

  • Ability to prioritise own workload.

  • Self-motivated for technical knowledge and personal development

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365

  • You are based in the east midlands, can commute to either our Grantham or Spalding office.
