Tax Specialist (Indirect Tax)

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to manage and oversee the preparation and submission of complex monthly and quarterly UK and some EU excise duty, VAT, and other statutory returns for all European operations. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance and accuracy in our financial operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of complex monthly and quarterly statutory returns.
• Correspond with HMRC and other relevant tax authorities to address any queries, issues, or audits.
• Reconcile tax return calculations and payments to SAP data.
• Communicate with various internal and external personnel to gather necessary information for complete, accurate, and timely indirect tax reporting.
• Support the Indirect Tax Manager by assisting with ad hoc projects or tasks as required.
• Maintain an accurate tax calendar and all indirect tax files for the team.
• Perform tax research and handle internal queries, escalating to management when necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree educated (or equivalent) required.
• Qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
• SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with functional and business stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
