Our client is seeking a Sustainability and Environmental Manager to join their team in Brackley. You will be responsible for driving and delivering the sustainability strategies for the organisation. You will use data and reporting requirements to make informed decisions and take a lead on sustainability improvement project delivery across the environmental sustainability spectrum as well as supporting members of the team to develop their technical skills. Reporting into the Head of Sustainability you will:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Sustainability to create and manage projects to meet the Team targets, including areas such as sustainable fuels, resource efficiency and circular economy adoption
  • Drive the expansion of sustainability reporting and monitoring best practice in this space
  • Contribute to wider sustainability strategy development
  • Identify environmental & sustainability risk and develop corresponding mitigation plans
  • Collaborate with Partner Managers and wider stakeholders to integrate sustainability across team partnerships
  • Develop people in a project-based, hybrid and matrix organisation
  • Provide point of contact and technical expertise for wider business across the Sustainability Spectrum
  • Establish, drive and track sustainability projects
  • Support the implementation of the sustainability strategy and develop business cases

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong experience of voluntary and compliance reporting
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of delivering sustainability improvement projects across a wide range of business functions
  • Have a hands-on approach combined with rigorous attention to detail
  • Be comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, engaging them to understand their challenges and deliver positive sustainability and environmental results
  • Have a strong entrepreneurial drive to identify and develop growth opportunities for environmental sustainability
  • Have passion and personal commitment to advocate for sustainable and responsible business practices internally and externally
  • Have experience with UK legislative and voluntary reporting requirements across climate and environmental sustainability (e.g., TCFD, SECR, EPR)
  • Have experience with best practice carbon accounting and reporting requirements (preferably including experience with life cycle assessments and material analysis)
  • Possess team management skills, along with an analytical mind and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Have management experience in a consulting or in-house environment, understanding common financial and legal requirements
  • Have experience of enacting and influencing behaviour change across an organisation to deliver sustainability benefits
  • Have sound knowledge of environmental management systems

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm.
