Job Description :

I am currently recruiting for a Surveyor to work on behalf of Kirklees Council.

Duties will include:

  • Provide technical expertise on all aspects of building maintenance and surveying.
  • Act as a Supervising Officer.
  • Achieve high-quality standards in building works and associated services through technical supervision.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for allocated projects.
  • Undertake preparatory, planning, and monitoring work to meet project requirements.
  • Carry out stock condition surveys.
  • Contribute to the development of the Asset Management Plan and Investment Strategy.
  • Perform Professional Estimating and Quantity Surveying functions for contractual agreements.
  • Provide specialist expertise in domestic gas heating and/or electrical services.
  • Manage rewiring programs, other electrical schemes, gas servicing contracts, maintenance contracts, planned maintenance, and commercial heating.
  • Offer specialist advice on damp, timber infestations, and structural defects.
  • Deliver operational aspects within the relevant service/business area.
  • Collaborate with Team Leader and other Surveyors to improve performance indicators and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare professional written communications.
  • Participate in team service reviews and planning.
  • Support others in adapting to change.
  • Contribute to policy and process development for consistent high-quality services.

To be successful in this role you will have the below skills and experience:

  • ONC or Equivalent (Level 3 Btec in Construction and the Build Environment) or relevant City and Guilds in the Construction and the Built environment or working towards such qualification
  • HNC or Equivalent (Level 4 in the Construction and Built Environment) or equivalent experience in the Building Surveying environment or working towards qualification
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering targets and goals within operational plans
  • A good level of computer literacy to interrogate various software packages ñ
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding legislation in relation to the role
  • Ber flexible in working throughout the borough.

The hours of work are full time (37 hours per week) and an attractive hourly rate of up to £25 (Via umbrella) is on offer.
